As an outdoor adventure blogger who frequently seeks out accommodations in the Swiss Alps, I had modest expectations, which the hotel partially met. The lodge is conveniently located a mere 10-minute drive from the ferry port, making it an ideal option for travelers on the go. The ample free parking is a boon, especially for families. My room featured a flat-screen TV and an electric kettle, accommodating basic needs for relaxation after a long day. It's important to note that the TV only provided limited channels, which felt a bit outdated. The dining area was bright, and the food offered was reasonably priced when compared to local options. Though the breakfast could use a touch more creativity, the service was always attentive. Despite some hiccups, such as the temporary lack of hot water and initial confusion during check-in, the staff's willingness to assist stood out. In evaluating the balance between luxury and affordability, Danby Lodge succeeds in providing a reliable overnight experience, albeit with some room for enhancements.
